Half Birthday Photo Session

Half Birthday Photo Session

Can’t believe it’s already time for Lendel’s six month old baby pictures. Remember when half-birthdays were a thing? I sure do. At what age do you stop counting your half birthday as an important milestone? I’d say the first one is definitely a big deal!

You’ll notice she’s wearing her amber teething necklace…she now has her two bottom teeth coming through, and while there have been a couple rough days (namely, my birthday…apparently, she didn’t get the memo), she has been handling it like a champ.

She’s trying her best to crawl…she rocks back and forth, scoots, and she has the sideways shuffle thing down so she can quickly go anywhere by moving in a circular motion. She rolls over before you even notice now, and she’s as determined as ever, to get wherever she’s not supposed to be. Her favorite teethers are her toes and the tags on anything and everything. Her favorite toys are those items just out of her reach, but aren’t actually hers…for instance, my work binders or my shoes. Why must my work binders be so enticing? 🙂 I guess it’s time to baby-proof the living room!

It seems like “mom” is her first word. Maybe she doesn’t know what she’s saying yet…but of course, just as I’m trying to get her to fall asleep on her own, she knows how to tug at my heartstrings and call out “mom!”

We are more in love with her every day, and I don’t know how, but she seems to be getting cuter and cuter. It breaks my heart to see her in teething pain, but she still smiles all the time. I’m sure it won’t be the first time she breaks my heart. I don’t know how we got so lucky, to have such a happy, chill, expressive baby. We are constantly saying we love her so much it hurts. Wouldn’t change it for the world. I thank God every day for her.
